WTPS22
WTPS22 is a boiler treatment based on sodium hexametaphosphate, it is used to precipitate calcium hardness as a mobile phosphate sludge.
WTPS22 is formulated with polymers and a dispersant that condition and mobilize the resultant phosphate sludge and aid in removal during boiler blow down.
WTPS22 delays precipitation of hardness salts in feed lines. It may be injected continuously to feed water containing hardness salts without the formation of excessive scale in the pipe line.
Physical State | Clear liquid |
Specific gravity (sg) @ 20oC | 1.18 |
pH of product | 6.8 |
WTPS22 is dosed to maintain a phosphate reserve within set limits that are determined by the operating conditions of the boiler (e.g. boiler pressure, chemical characteristics of the water employed) according to BS 2486.
Product ml per M3 feed = 5 x (60/C + 0.6 x H)
C= Boiler Concentration Factor H = feed hardness
WTPS22 may be injected using a dosage pump or a dosage pot as appropriate to the particular installation. Its viscosity permits handling by convention dosage pumps without dilution but it may be diluted if desired using softened water or condensate.
WTPS22 is not corrosive to steel mixing tanks or dosage pumps in concentrated or dilute form. However, if dosed direct to hot boiler shells use a stainless steel injection fitting.
Please refer to material safety data sheet for detailed handling/storage instructions.
WTPS22 treatments are shipped in 25 litre and 200 litre non-returnable drums.
