Description

WTPCL35 is a powerful descaling and iron oxide cleaning agent based on inhibited Hydrochloric Acid, for use in steam boilers, closed circuits, calorifiers, plant and process equipment. The product will remove calcium carbonate salts, mill scale and iron oxide from surfaces.

Once cleaning is complete WTPCL35 will need to be completely flushed from the system at appropriate velocities and the system pH and effluent pH will need to be neutralized to ensure full protection of metal surfaces and compliance of effluent discharge pH.

Advantages

WTPCL35 is excellent for use as a chemical cleaning agent. The formulation is enhanced with a blend of corrosion inhibitors which slows down acid attack of the base metal.

Dosing

• Chemical dosage of CL35 will depend on system requirements.
• WTP CL35 is dosed at 2 to 4 % of system volume will prove effective for descaling and cleaning applications. The amount of chemical used will be in proportion to scaling.
• WTP CL35 can be dosed direct from the shipping drum or diluted with water in a chemical mixing drum.
• WTP CL35 should only be in contact with metal surfaces for duration of the cleaning process. The cleaning process should be continuously monitored.
• During the cleaning process gases such as CO2 will be evolved, adequate ventilation / vents should be provided to ensure that gases may escape safely. 

Testing

Measurement of system pH at various points of the system will ensure correct chemical balance is maintained. As the pH rises due to the neutralization of the acid by the scale, further product will need to be added until descaling is completed.
