WTP RO 444 is a fast acting, non-oxidising, biocide formulation with a broad spectrum of activity. WTP RO 444 has been developed to control planktonic and sessile micro-organisms which form as biofilms in membranes and their pre-treatment systems.
WTP RO444 is compatible with all polyamide RO and NF membranes and can be used with other Water Treatment products as part of a routine cleaning programme.

With biologically and organically fouled membranes it is recommended that the foulant be removed before using low pH cleaning treatments.
WTP RO 444 can be used to remove biofouling on a once through or recycle basis. With standard recycle cleaning schedule it is advisable to pre-clean the membranes with an alkaline cleaner such as WTP RO 405. or WTP RO 418, after which a 150 - 200 mg/l (0.015-0.02%) solution of WTP RO 444 should be circulated around the plant for 30 minutes. The cleaning solution temperature should be maintained at 25°C and at a pH 6.0-7.0. This short treatment programme should be followed by rinsing and cleaning with a surfactant WTP RO 414 to remove any residual organic debris.
With lightly fouled membranes and pre-treatment plant WTP RO 444 may be applied directly to the feed water at a dose level of 150mg/l for 30 minutes. Although this procedure minimises the need for plant shut down, the product water should be discharged during the cleaning period and for 30 minutes after the WTP RO444 treatment has been terminated.
Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes to prevent mild irritation. In case of accidental contact, flush area with clean water. Product should not be ingested. Refer to Safety Data Sheet for full details.
Field Representatives will work closely with customer personnel to assure the effective application of the water treatment programme. Qualified personnel can provide regular service calls.
