WTPRO411
Aqueous solution containing the active ingredient Pentasodium nitrilotrismethylene phosphonate performing as a highly effective membrane antiscalant by mechanism of threshold scale inhibition across a broad spectrum of water types.
On-line dosing minimises the formation of scale and foulants, and therefore prolongs the time period between cleaning. It is compatible with all membrane types, and low dose rate requirements ensure cost benefits.
Normal dosage rate: 3.5 mg/L – as product.
Maximum dosage rate: 10 mg/L – as product.
Types of membrane: Fresh-water, Brackish-water, Sea-water.
Types of water: Fresh-water, Brackish-water, Sea-water. Drinking Water
Approval: Approved for use in public water supplies, Approved under regulation 31 of the water Supply regulations 2000.
Points of application: After all filtration media and before cartridge filter at the start of the membrane housing.
Method of dosage: Dosage would be proportional to flow rate by electronic dosage pump linked to the feed pump by simple relay.
Pumps should be set to give the highest practical frequency of impulses.
Method of control: Analysis of the brine solution and calculation of water of the concentration factor within the particular system.
Measurement of Concentration: It is usual to measure the level of RO 411 in the reject brine. Dividing this value by the concentration factor will give the level of RO 411 in the feedwater.
The active component RO 411 is hydrolysed to ortho-phosphate and measured colorimetrically as the reduced molybdenum blue complex.
Equipment: 25 ml Hach Digestion bottle, Hach UV Penlite & power source, Spectrophotometer, Potassium persulphate powder pillow, Hach PhosVer 3 pillow.
Method: Filter a sample of water containing RO 411 and transfer to a digestion bottle.
Add one potassium persulphate powder pillow and swirl to dissolve.
Insert UV probe and allow to hydrolyse for 30 minutes.
Add one PhosVer 3 pillow, swirl to dissolve and allow colour to develop for 20 minutes.
Measure colour with the spectrophotometer and convert the optical density obtained directly into mg/L phosphate.
1mg/L phosphate = 3.125 mg/L RO 411
