REVIEWING OUR TEST KIT RANGE: INTRODUCING OUR NEW ENGINEERS’ KITS
At Water Treatment Products (WTP), we’re continually looking at how we can improve the products and solutions we offer to water treatment professionals.
Over the past year, our technical team and WTP consultants have undertaken a comprehensive review of our test kit range. Drawing on years of technical knowledge and hands-on water treatment experience, the review has examined the tests we offer, the methods available and how we can ensure our range continues to meet the practical needs of our customers.
The first stage of this work has resulted in two new comprehensive engineers’ kits built around the PrimeLab 2.0 photometer. Combining a wide selection of testing methods and equipment in adaptable, portable packages, the kits represent an important step in the development of our testing offering.
However, the review extends beyond the introduction of two new products. It is part of an ongoing process to assess and improve our entire test kit range.
WHY REVIEW OUR TEST KIT RANGE?
Water testing is an essential part of effective water treatment management. Engineers need practical ways to assess water quality across a range of applications, including boiler water, cooling water and closed systems.
Different parameters require different approaches, and not every test is best carried out using the same method. Photometer testing, drop tests, meters and comparator-based methods can each have a role to play, depending on the parameter and the testing requirements.
Our aim was to take a closer look at our existing offering, verify the tests and methods available, and ensure we were selecting the most appropriate option for each parameter.
This also provided an opportunity to review how our kits are configured, consider the equipment engineers need in practice and identify where our wider offering could be improved.
PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AT THE HEART OF THE PROCESS
An important part of the review has been the involvement of WTP’s technical team and consultants, bringing together technical expertise and years of hands-on experience in water treatment.
Their practical knowledge has helped inform the review and design process, ensuring that consideration is given not only to the tests themselves, but also to how the equipment is used in the field.
The result is an approach focused on providing appropriate testing methods, useful combinations of equipment and practical solutions for water treatment engineers.
INTRODUCING OUR NEW ENGINEERS’ KITS
The first outcome of the review is two comprehensive engineers’ kits, both built around the PrimeLab 2.0 photometer and supported by complementary testing equipment.
ENGINEERS PRIMELAB KIT
Our Engineers PrimeLab Kit provides an extensive selection of water testing parameters, combining photometer tests with drop tests, meters, a refractometer and tablet-based testing.
The range covers parameters including alkalinity, aluminium, ammonia, bromine, calcium hardness, chloride, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, conductivity, copper, iron, molybdate, nitrite, pH, phosphonate, phosphate, salinity, silica, sulphite, tannin, temperature, total dissolved solids, total hardness and zinc.
With a broad range of testing capabilities in one package, it offers engineers a versatile option for a variety of water treatment testing requirements.
The kit is available with a choice of PC450 or PCSTestr meter, allowing customers to select a configuration to suit their requirements and budget.
BG50 PRIMELAB KIT
The BG50 PrimeLab Kit provides a comprehensive selection of water testing parameters, combining the PrimeLab 2.0 photometer with drop tests, meters, a refractometer and tablet-based testing.
Its range includes alkalinity, aluminium, ammonia, calcium hardness, chloride, conductivity, copper, iron, molybdate, nitrite, pH, salinity, sulphite, temperature, total dissolved solids and total hardness.
It provides a practical option for engineers looking for a broad selection of routine water treatment testing capabilities in one organised package.
Like the Engineers PrimeLab Kit, the BG50 is available with either a PC450 or PCSTestr meter.
ROBUST CASES WITH A FLEXIBLE DESIGN
Both kits are supplied in a robust Peli case, providing durable, portable storage for the equipment.
Inside, the coloured, interchangeable foam inserts fit together like a jigsaw. This modular design allows the internal layout to be adapted to accommodate different equipment and changing testing requirements.
Additional reagents can be incorporated, while alternative meters or comparators can be accommodated for engineers who prefer a different testing approach.
This flexibility means the kits are not limited to one fixed configuration. The contents can be tailored to individual requirements, with additional tests available where needed.
THE FIRST STAGE OF ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS
Developing these two engineers’ kits is an important milestone, but it is only the first stage of our wider review.
We are continuing to assess our entire test kit offering, looking at the products, tests and methods available to ensure we are providing appropriate solutions for the needs of water treatment professionals.
This ongoing process will inform further improvements and developments across the range.
Our aim is straightforward: to provide practical water testing solutions backed by technical knowledge, real-world experience and a commitment to continually reviewing what we offer.
